We understand your time is valuable, and participation is crucial to achieving the goals set forth between you and your child's therapist. In most cases, third-party insurers require documentation of progress in order to maintain eligibility in the therapy program. Our goal is to provide high-quality therapeutic services, helping your child exceed expectations. This is only possible if every effort is made to attend scheduled appointments.
Appointment Cancellations:
If an event negatively affects your ability to attend a standing appointment, please notify the primary therapist as soon as possible, preferably within 24 hours. If you are unable to meet the 24-hour notice, we still ask you to respectfully inform the therapist via phone of a missed appointment at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled time.We ask that you make a collaborative effort to reschedule any missed appointments to strengthen the continuity of rehabilitation services within 2 weeks of the original missed date of service. Families with private insurance will be charged a $40 no-show fee for any appointment canceled with less than two hours’ notice. This policy helps ensure that valuable appointment slots are not left unfilled, allowing us to serve as many children as possible.
Attendance Policy for Medicaid Patients:
For Medicaid patients, adherence to appointment schedules is critical in ensuring equitable access to care. Any no-show/no-call appointment with less than two hours’ notice may result in immediate discharge from services at Highland Horizon Therapy. We recognize that unexpected situations arise and encourage families to communicate with us as soon as possible if they need to reschedule.Appointments must be cancelled 24 hours prior to the start of the appointment time, or this will be counted as a NO SHOW. We understand illnesses can occur unexpectedly and respectfully ask that you notify us as soon as possible. Missed appointments must be made up within two weeks of the missed session.
No-Show / Missed Appointments:
For appointments that are missed without notification, the following policy applies: after TWO missed appointments without prior notice, the client will be removed from the permanent schedule, placed on a flex schedule, and may be eligible for discharge from the program due to non-adherence and poor compliance. -
